Neurosurgery

Diagnosis and surgical treatment of:

• arterial aneurysms of brain;
• arteriovenous malformations and fistulae of brain and spinal cord, arterio-sinus fistulae (incl. carotid-cavernous fistulae);
• cerebral and spinal vascular stenosis;
• cerebral (brain), spinal, pituitary tumors
• tumors of cranial and spinal nerves;
• lumbar disc herniations and lumbar spinal stenosis;
• injuries of peripheral nerves and nerve plexuses;
• consequences of traumatic brain injury (posttraumatic skull defects, basal liquorrhea, hydrocephalus);
• normotensive adult hydrocephalus.

Functional and stereotactic neurosurgery:

• extrapyramidal movement disorders (Parkinson's disease, generalized muscle dystonia, essential tremor etc.);
• surgical treatment of epilepsy, central and peripheral chronic pain syndromes (incl. severe facial pain), severe spastic syndrome.

Methods that are used for treatment:

• neurostimulation of deep cerebral structures (deep brain stimulation – DBS);
• neurostimulation for chronic pain (spinal cord stimulation – SCS);
• Baclofen pump implantation, DREZ-myelotomy, selective rhizotomy;
• stereotaxic biopsy;
• microvascular decompression of cranial nerves.

Endoscopic neurosurgery:

• transsphenoidal endoscopic surgery of pituitary adenomas, craniopharyngiomas and other tumors of chiasmosellar area;
• transcranial endoscopic surgery of skull base tumors;
• transcranial endoscopic microvascular decompression of trigeminal nerve;
• transnasal and transcranial endoscopic closing of cerebrospinal fluid fistula;
• endoscopic surgery of cysts of ventricular system of the brain, endoscopic perforation of fundus of the third ventricle;
• endoscopic surgery of tunnel syndromes of upper extremity.

Endovascular neurosurgery:

• embolization of cerebral and spinal arterial aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations;
• embolization of tumor blood vessels (pre-surgical or as the main method of treatment);
• brachiocephalic and intracranial artery stenting in case of dissection and stenosis.

We also carry out microcoil embolization, incl. balloon- and stent-assistance, flow-diverting stents, nonadhesive embolic agents and adhesives, combination of transarterial and transvenous approaches.

Pediatric neurosurgery:

• diagnosis and surgical treatment of cerebral and spinal tumors (incl. tumors of brain stem), vascular diseases of central nervous system, cerebral and spinal congenital defects;
• reconstructive operations in craniostenosis, hydrocephalus and its’ sequelae;
• treatment of drug-resistant epilepsia;
