    Clinical residency

    The clinical residency in the Republican Research and Clinical Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery is one of the highest forms of training for medical specialists.

    The main goals of clinical residency are the following:

    • to deepen knowledge of neurology and to improve practical skills;
    • professional development in accordance with the qualification requirements;
    • learning innovative medical technologies to implement it in practical health care.

    The procedure for training in clinical residency of Republican Research and Clinical Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery is defined in the Instruction on the organization and passing training in clinical residency was approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus on 06.01.2009 N 2 "About the timing of training in clinical residency and approval of the Instruction on the organization and passing training in clinical residency" (as amended in accordance with the Republic of Belarus Ministry of health Decree on 12.06.2012 N 66).

    Admission of medical specialists from among the citizens of the Republic of Belarus in the clinical residency of Republican Research and Clinical Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the expense of the republican budget is carried out in accordance with the admission quotas to be approved annually by the order of the Republic of Belarus Ministry of Health.

    Training in clinical residency is carried out in the following specialties according to the List of specialties of clinical residency approved by the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus on 01.08.2014 N 6, and according to the areas of medical activity the of Republican Research and Clinical Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery:

    • neurology;
    • neurosurgery;

    Also, in certain cases, when the required teaching specialists are present, training may be provided in:

    • anesthesiology and critical care medicine;
    • clinical laboratory diagnostics;
    • X-ray diagnostics;
    • X-ray endovascular surgery;
    • ultrasound diagnostics;
    • physiotherapy;
    • functional diagnostics.

    Plans and curricula for medical residents of these specialties are approved by the Ministry of Health of Belarus. They can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Health of Belarus: http://minzdrav.gov.by/ru/static/spavochno-infirm/plany_progr_ordinatury.

    Reception of documents in the clinical residency and entrance examinations are carried out annually in May – July. Classes begin on the 1st of September.

    Training in the clinical residency is carried out in full-time (duration of training is 24 months) or part-time (duration of training is 36 months) forms.

    Admission to the clinical residency for training of medical specialists over approved the admission quotas is carried out on a paid basis.

    Reception of documents in the clinical residency of medical specialists among foreign citizens and stateless persons residing in the Republic of Belarus on legal grounds is carried out on a paid basis during the calendar year.

    To participate in the competition for the passage of training in clinical residency you must be submitted to the personnel department of Republican Research and Clinical Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery of the following documents:

    • statement addressed to the head of the educational institution (organization);
    • a postgraduate medical education and its annex (the original);
    • recognition of the document on education issued in a foreign country;
    • a copy of the internship (internship);
    • a copy of the available qualifying category;
    • personal form of accounting personnel (with a photo);
    • autobiography;
    • characteristic-recommendation from last place of work;
    • a copy of the work book;
    • a medical certificate of good health;
    • 3 photographs sized 3 x 4 cm.

    Belarus citizen passport (residence permit in the Republic of Belarus, or refugee certificate) and a military card are presented in person.

    Foreign citizens and stateless persons wishing to undergo training on a paid basis in the clinical residency of Republican Research and Clinical Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery should contact the head of the Department of Extrabudgetary Activities Anna T. Bliznyuk (tel. +375 17 267 27 03, e-mail ninh@mail.ru) or the scientific secretary Ph.D., associate professor Lyudmila P. Parkhach (e-mail parkhachlp@mail.ru). Cost of training ranges from $ 2,500 per year depending on the specialty. As of 01.01.2016 the following residents were undergoing training at the Republican Research and Clinical Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery:

    • neurology: full-time - 2; in absentia - 8; full-time fee - 1;
    • neurosurgery: full-time - 1; in absentia - 12;
    • X-ray diagnostics: in absentia - 1.
